Product line
How would you describe your product line? Think about how consistent and scalable your offering is right now.
I have a clear, consistent line with multiple products that make sense together. I have some consistent pieces, but it's a bit of a mix right now. Every piece is different. I make things as inspiration strikes. I'm still figuring out what my product line is.
Pricing + margins
Do you know your costs, and could you profitably sell at 50% of your retail price? Wholesale is usually half of retail. If your margins can't handle that, wholesale will cost you money.
Yes, I know my costs, and 50% of retail still works for me I think so, but I haven't done the math lately. Not sure. My pricing is based more on gut feeling than costs. 50% of my retail price wouldn't leave me much, if anything.
Photography
How would you rate your product photos? Shop owners buy with their eyes first. Photos are the biggest reason a buyer clicks or keeps scrolling.
Clean, consistent, and professional, with good lighting Pretty good, but some products look better than others. Phone photos. They're fine, but not polished. Photos are definitely something I need to work on.
Website
Do you have a professional online store? Buyers often check your website before ordering, to make sure you're a real, professional brand.
Yes, a full store with product pages, descriptions, and SEO I have one, but it's outdated or not fully built out. I mostly sell on Etsy, Instagram, or at markets. I don't have a website yet.
Brand story
Could you describe your brand in 2 or 3 sentences that would get a shop owner excited? Shop owners have to tell your story to their customers. If you can't say it clearly, they can't sell it.
Absolutely. I know exactly what makes me different I can explain what I make, but it's not as punchy as I'd like. I struggle to put it into words. I haven't really thought about it yet.
Fulfillment
Could you ship a $200 to $500 wholesale order within 2 weeks, on a regular basis? Wholesale means bigger quantities on tighter timelines, and shops expect fast, consistent reorders.
Yes, I have inventory on hand or can make it quickly Probably, but it would stretch me It'd be tough. I'm mostly made to order right now No, I couldn't handle that volume yet
Wholesale experience
Have you sold wholesale before? Even informal experience teaches you what shop owners actually need.
Yes, I sell to shops and boutiques right now I've done some, but it was informal or on and off I've done markets and pop-ups, but not stores I've only sold directly to customers so far
Product descriptions
Do your products have descriptions that cover materials, story, and what makes them special? Online, buyers can't touch your products, so your words have to do the selling.
Yes, every product has a full description Some do, but they're inconsistent Most are pretty basic, just a name and a price Not really, not yet
Faire know-how
Do you know how competitive your category is on Faire? Some categories are packed, and others are wide open. Knowing which one you're in saves time and money.
Yes, I've researched it and know where the gaps are I've browsed Faire a bit, but haven't dug in I've heard of Faire, but haven't spent much time there No idea. I'd be going in blind
Goals
What does wholesale success look like for you in the next 12 months? A clear goal tells you what to focus on, and whether Faire is the right fit.
I have a specific revenue goal and a plan to hit it I'm serious about adding a real wholesale income stream I'm curious, but not sure how big a priority it is I'm just exploring for now
